The history of the blue Japanese floral glass:
The glass comes from the Mt Erin convent in Wagga Wagga. Around 1900-1905
The sisters of the convent decided to expand a section of the convent for returning war veterans and decided they would prefer clear glass so that they could see the garden from their beds.
Lots of this beautiful glass has been thrown out, but Angela's (the woman that i bought the glass from) great grandfather, who supplied the convent with flowers, saved about 6 unbroken pieces.
Blue japanese floral is incredible difficult to find, very rare and highly sought after.
